About Africa:The adventure...

I am from Africa. But wait a minute! Africa is a continent. It would be more appropriate to say Iam from Kenya. But it's important to re-iterate that Africa is a continent not a country for those that may have forgotten that simple fact we learned on our third grade geography.... Okay, now that we have settled and hopefully agreed on that fact. Let's move on to the reason why I write this post.

Africa is the most misunderstood continent --- much of the reporting from main stream media is erroneous, hyped, seen through the eyes of a reporter who has no clue about what happens at teh grassroots level. The real Africa.  Africa is a complex place. A place of beauty. A place of ugly. A place that's different than the way most westerners see it.

Well, Lets say it's true. There is HIV AIDS, poverty, hunger. Three things I know so too well at a personal level. My entire extended family has been wiped out by the diseases HIV-AIDS, we have many times gone hungry for days sometimes...and yet sometimes we ate and there was abundance, there is also hope, and real progress, Africa is changing, people hunger for a better tomorrow.

In this section of my chlonicles, I invite you to follow me to Africa and see for yourself. No matter what your interest in travels, whether you have watched the movie "out-of-Africa", trust me you will have something that will cause you to want to get into Africa. And for  a start, Iam inviting you to Kenya. My home country.
Below you will find links to what it is like growing up, being educated and living in Kemya. You will enter into the lives of African Children though their stories and pictures. I hope that your heart will be touched by the children here in Kenya as they have touched mine.
